KIVA

Het was weer tijd om een lening uit te geven. Deze keer heb ik gekozen voor Sulman uit de US, een dame die met kralen werkt (wat ik ook graag doe, maar ja: tijd of eigenlijk: het gebrek eraan).

Nearly 3 years ago, Sulman was diagnosed with cancer. During treatment, she discovered her talent for jewelry design at a workshop as she began searching for a way to move forward with her life. Shortly thereafter, people began inquiring about where she got her jewelry--prompting Sulman to make a business out of her unique designs. Today, this creative outlet gives her the motivation needed to remain in good health.

Her home-based business has been in operation for over two years now. She produces necklaces, bracelets, and other customer jewelry pieces for friends, family, and her extended network. She currently purchases materials from Michaels and other such stores and hand crafts particular pieces per order. Her business is currently experiencing significant growth through word of mouth. She has picked up more clientele and recently she has been picking up some larger orders. In order to fill these orders she has requested a loan to invest in the materials needed to fill these orders.

Originally from Costa Rica, she has been living in the United States for over 35 years with her husband. Her future goal is to expand her business internationally.
