Hallala is a 41-year-old mother of four from southern Israel. She was taken out of school after ninth grade but has always been determined to learn and gain skills. Hallala began taking part in a local women’s forum, and through the forum she learned crochet, sewing and jewelry making. She has worked with KIEDF gaining basic business management skills and developed her microenterprise. Hallala took small loans in the past to open and manage her business, always paying back on time. She now needs to expand further and upgrade some of her materials and equipment.
Hallala needed this loan to purchase a sewing machine, specialized equipment, beads, string, wool and other materials.
Hallala’s husband supports her work and believes she is developing a good business, adding to their family’s income. Hallala wants to continue to strengthen her business and provide for her children.

Leticia, Rafael and Porfirio have lived in the community of “Adolfo Lopez Mateos” in the state of Campeche their whole lives, and have been friends since they were kids. They began harvesting fields when they were very young and this activity has become their main source of income. They all have to face the same problem of not having a constant income, because the money they receive from agriculture depends on the prices of the products at the time.
Given the lack of electricity in their community, they usually purchase lighting sources such as fuel and batteries to feed their light sources, which is not only expensive but also impractical. By purchasing a solar home system, Leticia and her group will have a better quality of life. Also, the solar home system will allow them to improve the family's economic situation by allowing them to perform productive activities once the sun has set
Momenteel heb ik heel weinig (bijna niets) te laten zien aan creatieve dingen die ik doe. Ik kom er bijna niet aan toe. Ik heb nog een SWAP liggen die gigantisch over de datum is en ik ben bezig met poppenkleertjes voor de laagste groepen van zoonliefs basisschool. Deze 2 zaken hebben echt urgentie HOOG, maar ja: als ik er de energie niet voor heb dan gaat het niet. Ik (wij) zijn heel druk met van alles rondom zoonlief (Autisme Spectrum Stoornis). Medicijnen (of niet), therapie (begonnen met sensorische integratie therapie), kan hij op deze school blijven of word het toch Speciaal Basis Onderwijs (of een cluster4 school). Kost allemaal veel tijd en energie, vooral als je 'tegengewerkt' wordt door de leerkracht (dit terwijl de school er alles aan wilt doen, maar zij wil absoluut niets en zorgt zo voor een nog meer overprikkeld kind), vrienden en familie. Dat men niet alles begrijpt is logisch, maar een beetje medeleven of respect is wel het minst dat je als 'ouders van' ontvangen wilt. Dat kan blijkbaar niet iedereen opbrengen. En naast dit alles ook nog de 'normale dingen des levens' (ook leuke!!!). Het is allemaal gewoon een beetje teveel geweest dit jaar. Hopelijk dat het 2014 een wat energierijker jaar wordt!
