Violeta Antonio is from the village of Linglingay, Cauayan City, Isabela. She is 44 years old. Violeta is the group leader of a 9-member group loan offered by ASKI. While each member of the group receives an individual loan, they are all collectively responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members if someone is delinquent or defaults. Violeta is married and has three school-aged children. To make a living, Violeta owns and operates a business venture in the manufacturing sector operating a furniture making business. While not the only means for generating revenue, the main source of income for the business comes primarily from making and selling general household furniture to local businesses and community members. Violeta has been engaged in her business for over seven years and earns approximately 3000 PHP a month for these activities. In 2010, Violeta joined ASKI to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Violeta is requesting a new loan of 5000 PHP which will be used to purchase additional inventory and working capital. This loan will be the 1st loan taken out by Violeta from ASKI. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to supplement the family's income.
Ik ben zó gek met KIVA, dat wil je niet weten! Ik weet dat ik het bedrag dat ik uitleen kwijt kan zijn: het is tenslotte een lening. Je kunt met €25 iemand (of een groepje mensen) helpen en als je het teruggekregen hebt wéér een ander (groepje) met hetzelfde geld kun je dus heel veel mensen helpen. Ik heb ongeveer €64 ingelegd en daar help ik dus 6 (groepen van) mensen mee (of heb geholpen hè, van 2 heb ik de lening weer terugbetaald gekregen, netjes volgens afspraak) Je hoort mij niet zeggen dan €64 geen geld is, want dat is het wél. Maar ik kon het missen en nu kan ik er zoveel mensen mee bereiken....................geweldig.
