KIVA

Deze maand kwamen er zoveel terugbetalingen binnen dat ik 2 leningen kon uitgeven! (met bijbetaling van 0,68 dollarcent....) Mijn keuze is gevallen op:

Aminah from Lebanon

Aminah, a 47-year-old married mother of two, has been working as a tailor for 15 years to support her husband in developing their family’s financial situation. She has succeeded with time to expand her business by improving her productions’ wholesale trade.

Today, Aminah is seeking a loan from Kiva’s field partner Al Majmoua to expand her business even more by opening a retail shop where she can display her production and attract more customers.

Aminah hopes to keep on developing her business in a well-managed way in order to ensure that she can provide her beloved family with the standard of living they both need and deserve.

Keoxai's village takes water from wells and from the local streams. Some people in the village are able to buy bottled water. The water in this area is dirty and unsuitable for drinking without treatment. The nearby villages also suffer from dirty and unsafe drinking water.

Keoxai is excited that she and her neighbors were able to purchase a water filter. Most families report a threefold reduction in diarrhea after they begin using the filter; this is because the filter removes bacteria and other water borne diseases. The water filter also increases disposable income and available working days due to the decreased cost of purchasing charcoal or foraging for wood and/or purchasing bottled water.

The filter is guaranteed for 2 years, though most find the filter works from 3-5 years.
