KIVA

Batjargal, 35 years old, lives with his mother in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. His mother has retired from work and gets a pension from the state. For almost two years, he has been working at a factory where vacuum-insulated windows are manufactured. Also he rents an automobile to local people who provide taxi services with it. He is requesting a loan of 6,500,000 MNT to purchase an automobile that runs on natural gas. A main advantage of a natural gas vehicle is that its emissions are cleaner: there are lower emissions of carbon and lower particulate emissions per equivalent distance traveled. Also it wastes less fuel. So purchasing this automobile is both beneficial to him and to the environment. Mr. Batjargal is a very hardworking individual who wants to improve his family's standard of living for his mother. His mother’s only wish is to see her son living happily.
